Treating a child for cancer is never easy. In order for the process to go well, parents need to monitor their child's well-being every day: recording the temperature, the number of medications taken, the food and the advice of doctors. This is a lot of information that needs to be written down. To help parents, «Patient Diaries» have been created.
The diary is a logbook, which helps the doctors to monitor the condition of the child and correct the treatment in due time.
Now we have a request from the R. M. Gorbacheva Research Institute for 200 diaries. We want to raise an amount so that the onboard journals will be enough for the whole year.
«The treatment of children with malignant diseases requires parents to constantly monitor the child's condition. Several times a day it is necessary to measure and record vital parameters (pressure, pulse rate, breathing, saturation, temperature and others). A diary also helps the medical staff. It is easier to explain what to pay attention to, in what dosage to give medications», comments S. I. Oleshko, psychologist at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the R. M. Gorbachova Research Institute of DOGiT.
Thanks to the diary, parents feel cared for. By leaving a donation, you help them cope with stress and focus on the most important thing — the recovery of the child.
