The main task of "Fidelity" is to have fewer homeless animals on the streets. To do this, we use the scheme "Capture - sterilize - vaccinate - release (shelter)". More applications are coming in, and shelters and animal volunteers don't have enough cages for cats and dogs. They reached out to Fidelity, and we, as handlers of more than 3,000 homeless animals, are asking for help.
It takes up to 2 weeks, sometimes more, to spay and vaccinate. Street cats and dogs often do not know how to socialize with people and do not trust them very much. Once in an unfamiliar environment, they can damage property. This is dangerous for both the animals and the volunteers. We focus primarily on the safety and comfort of the animals, they should feel protected. Cages provide that protection and become a temporary home. We are collecting donations for 15 cages for this purpose.
And another 6 cages are needed for emergency transportation of critically ill animals. There are a lot of sick cats and dogs in shelters and at the shelters that probably won't be taken home anymore. Handlers take them to veterinary clinics for treatment, and there are not enough cages. Private donations are often insufficient to pay for treatment and care, so buying cages for handlers is an unaffordable luxury.
These cages will also be used to transport injured animals found on the streets and highways who do not have handlers.
The cages will simplify logistics, the animals will feel safe, and it will be easier for the volunteers to spay and vaccinate them.
Every ruble, every donation matters. Together we can make the lives of homeless animals better. And their eyes shining with joy is the best thanks!
