Sabina's parents had dreamed of having a child for a long time. A miracle happened after six long years. Pregnancy was difficult. From week 24 a constant threat of premature births began. Mother spent two months on maternity leave.
Sabina was born in Moscow on week 32, weighing 2180 grams and 45 centimeters tall.
After birth Sabina was not breathing, she was on artificial ventilation for a month and a half. On the third day there was a brain hemorrhage. Doctors said that the child would not survive, and even if she did, she would become a "vegetable".
They discharged her home without any prognosis for her further development.
Diagnoses piled up like a snowball: hydrocephalus (a shunt was installed), organic affection of CNS, partial atrophy of the optic nerve, strabismus, nystagmus, epi-activity, heart defect, cerebral palsy...
By now Sabina had 8 surgeries. Five of them were operations on brain.
Now Sabina is 3 years old and she is a huge fighter. She is a wonderful girl with huge willpower and zeal for life. Her family does their best for her. In specialized medical centers Sabina undergoes AFC-therapy, physical therapy, massage, logopedic probing massage. Her parents do a lot of work with her at home by themselves.
Thanks to constant training and rehabilitation the child changes before their eyes. Sabina is walking, running, and speaking in sentences.
But it is impossible to stop. As time works against her.
