When Roxy cut her paw on a walk, no one thought it could lead to a deadly disease.
The cut was severe, and the situation was routine: unfortunately, near the shelter where Roxy lives, glass sometimes gets thrown around. While we drove to the clinic to stitch up the paw, the poor thing lost a lot of blood, and after the surgery she had to spend several more hours under IVs.
Roxy went back to the shelter, but we had to take her to the surgeon several days later: the girl was so active that the stitches had come apart, and she bled again.
When her paw began to heal, we all finally exhaled.
And here was where the real trouble awaited us: Roxie suddenly stopped eating, she started vomiting violently and bloody diarrhea. From a healthy and cheerful child, in one day she turned into a lump that barely resisted the disease, remotely resembling a dog. The diagnosis was parvovirus enteritis.
As it turned out, due to double blood loss and a sharp weakening of the immune system, Roxie's body, which, incidentally, was vaccinated, was not able to resist the virus.
Now Roxie's life continues to be in danger: the disease is very severe, and an ultrasound shows extensive intestinal damage. Enteritis is a very insidious disease.
This collection will help me and Roxie buy time to fight the disease under the 24-hour supervision of qualified doctors in the hospital of a good clinic and give her a chance to live.
