An affectionate and smiling girl, Kira, lives in an orphanage. Her mother surrendered her to an orphanage. The reason for this was a developmental anomaly - spina bifida, with which the little girl was born. People with this diagnosis have impaired functioning of pelvic organs, they cannot walk most often, and they have to use a special wheelchair. Kira gets along well with other children, loves to ride on the swings and walk in the fresh air. Of course, like any child, she loves to watch princess cartoons and listen to fairy tales. Despite her health problems, Kira is a very independent girl and loves to learn. Assiduous and diligent, she strives to see things through to the end. And of course, she dreams of having parents and a family who will care and love her! This is exactly the noble mission of the "Helping children with spina bifida" project of the "Spina Bifida" Charity Foundation! The project also works with foster parent candidates. We are very proud that last year 7 foster parent candidates took a child diagnosed with spina bifida into a family! It is not an easy task to find a parents for such a child. A pr-manager of the project posts information about the child on different web sites, including social networks, answers the questions of the potential parents, finds and sends best pictures and videos, and then other specialists of the project, psychologists, lawyers join. The work of the foundation is also to ensure that orphans are examined in the best clinics and receive recommendations from specialists about the disease. So far, the Spina Bifida Foundation has placed 45 orphans with spina bifida in families but the project has more than 100 more children who still urgently need loving parents. And they also need medicine, strollers, an active life, school and a vacation on the river with their friends.
