Muslim underwent an intensive rehabilitation course and learned new skills!

8-year-old Muslim has autism. The boy does not speak, hardly understands the addressed speech, and seems to be in his own world, not reacting to other children and adults. During the intensive rehabilitation course, Muslim has made significant progress in his development! The passage of 3 courses of hardware therapy using the "Tomatis" method" certainly gave an impetus to the improvement of cognitive, speech and mental functions of Muslim. This therapy is aimed at training the inner ear by listening to specially processed classical music. Therapy has had a beneficial effect on the boy's development, his excessive activity has decreased, his psychophysiological state has normalized, there is an improvement in communication skills, as well as an understanding of reversed speech. Experts noted that Muslim's attention, reaction, memorization improved, he began to have better contact with teachers. Before the start of rehabilitation, especially great difficulties in the development of Muslim were associated with the absence of speech and any sounds at all. Thanks to the work of a neurologist, the boy had the first speech vocalizations – vowel sounds and sounds of early ontogenesis. Due to the fact that the child did not use speech, the tongue was in constant tone, after special exercises to relax the tongue, Muslim learned to pull out the tongue, which is necessary for the pronunciation of sounds. In addition, the boy had no speech exhalation, the specialist performed stimulation aimed at improving this skill. Due to the incorrect structure of the external articulatory apparatus, Muslim could not chew food, but simply kneaded it between the tongue and palate, without using teeth. To date, the boy has learned how to chew food properly. Despite the steady eye contact, Muslim had a sensory disorder – the absence of an eye-hand connection, that is, he did not realize how to correctly perform manipulations with his hands, depending on what he sees. Due to the fact that the specialist conducted intensive work on the formation of a stable relationship between visual perception and motor skills, at the end of the intensive rehabilitation course, this violation was eliminated. After training with a behavioral analyst, Muslim learned alternative communication skills through PECS cards, now he can show what he wants. The boy also learned to imitate 5 simple actions with an object and 4 independent motor movements, sort identical items into baskets. Muslim has reduced the number of manifestations of undesirable behavior during classes, the child sits quietly at the table and cooperates with the teacher.
