15-year-old Daniel has cerebral palsy. The boy is experiencing difficulties not only physically, but also has problems with speech and cognitive abilities.
During this rehabilitation course, Daniel underwent sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, classes with a speech therapist and an adaptive physical culture specialist.
In sports, Daniel confidently walks on a treadmill without assistance, trains on an exercise bike, performs exercises with dumbbells on his own, and has learned to throw balls at the target.
The speech therapist worked on the production of the sounds "r" and "l", which the boy could not pronounce correctly before the rehabilitation. Also, the speech therapist worked on expanding Daniel's vocabulary, taught him to compose short stories on a specific topic for the development of imagination and logical thinking.
Also, as part of this rehabilitation, Daniel underwent a course of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This procedure helps to increase the functional reserves of the body and brain in children with intellectual disabilities. Nervous and muscular tissue is saturated with oxygen and is better supplied with blood. The procedure initiates the growth of new blood vessels and the inclusion of "dormant" or closed capillaries into the circulatory system. This course had a beneficial effect on both Daniel's physical and psychoemotional state.
