About 2,000 babies are born each year in Russia with the diagnosis of spina bifida. Doctors can detect this severe neural tube abnormality during pregnancy. The baby forms a spina bifida hernia and has problems with walking, urology, and several other body systems. We raise funds for the work of a project to help pregnant women expecting a child diagnosed with Spina Bifida. Thanks to the funds raised, women will be able to: - Receive necessary information about ways to prevent the congenital pathology of Spina Bifida - Learn about effective routes for intrauterine surgery from the best experts to prevent severe consequences of the malformation - Receive consultations from the best experts on the treatment of children diagnosed with Spina Bifida - Receive targeted support (transportation to a specialized perinatal center, accommodation prior to surgery and delivery, food, examinations, preparation for delivery) - Get help in organizing the necessary surgery for the correction of spina bifida right after the birth. - To receive psychological and legal assistance. Currently, about 10 pregnant women and families with newborn children apply to the fund each month. So we will be able to help up to 60 pregnant women and newborn children a year. In 5 years of the fund's work more than 70 women from Russia have already received timely help, were able to make intrauterine surgery to correct Spina Bifida and give birth to children with better quality of health. We are collecting money for the work of the project for the next six months.
