Lera was born 970 grams and 32 centimeters tall 12 weeks early. Her mother's pregnancy was not easy and the doctors performed an emergency cesarean section at 28-29 weeks of pregnancy. Then the fight for the life of the 970-gram baby began. A month and a half of resuscitation on artificial ventilation, injections of antibiotics to save Lera's life. Unfortunately, the injections affected the baby's hearing. All the diagnoses that were given to Lera at birth, she and her parents managed to cure during the first months of her life. But when she was one year old, her parents noticed that she could not hear. She was hardly examined at the clinic and when she was 1 year and 3 months old her suspicions were confirmed: Leroy was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss of degree 4. At first she had a long period of treatment for otitis, then she had to wait for an operation. Finally, when she was 2, she underwent cochlear implantation, one month later she was hooked up to a hearing aid, and she began to learn to hear the world. It is not enough just to put the device on - she needs everyday rehabilitation, and she needs to attend lessons to teach her daughter how to hear and speak. Today Lera is able to talk thanks to the course she took. She is very bright, curious, smiling and friendly. Lera loves to sing children's songs and play board games. This year she had an operation on her second ear, and now she can hear with both ears! When she has finished school in a year, she needs to take several rehabilitation courses at the rehabilitation center "Tosha and Co" in Fryazino, Moscow region.
