Varduhi grew up in Armenia, in a family of seven, and she loves receiving guests: "Our doors are always open," she shares in a ringing voice, "Our people are noisy, sociable. They have an open heart. Her guests come to her home with their families. Varduhi prepares national dishes, and meetings continue until late into the night: heartfelt toasts, dancing, and talking are a source of happiness for her. Last year Varduhi was looking forward to spring: she missed the sun and the green leaves terribly. And spring really was special for her. In March she had a headache, fever and bruises on her arms and legs. Varduhi underwent tests. As always in high spirits, she came in for the results with a smile, and the doctor looked at her anxiously and suddenly walked around the office, "You're so young, I can't tell you." "Doctor, well, it's not cancer there, is it?" - Vardui laughed, having no idea how close to the truth she was. There really was cancer -- acute myeloblastic leukemia. Varduhi remembers how she got to the apartment that day, but she remembers that the children were home. Not to frighten them, she sneaked into the bathroom, turned on the water and cried. Now, after four courses of chemotherapy, Varduhi is not so scared anymore: "Better for me than for my family," she smiles. - It is good that it was me, not them, who had the disease. I will go all the way to the end and get treatment. I'll be fine. Varduhi needs a bone marrow transplant to be okay. The government will pay for the procedure, but Varduhi has to pay for her own examination of the donor and the transplant. She has been unable to work for the past year because of her illness. Her husband is single-handedly supporting a family of four. Without your help, they can't make it. Varduhi dreams that when she conquers her illness, she will return home, walk into her apartment, and there will be a piano. She will sit at it and play Chopin. And she'll love this life even more and enjoy it even more. Help this dream come true.
