Alan had a successful heart surgery!

Alan is 1 year and 4 months old. Immediately after birth the paediatrician detected a murmur in the child's heart and said that a consultation with a cardiologist was necessary. After investigation they made a definite diagnosis: complicated heart defect with a single ventricle and valve (double-chambered heart). The doctors said the boy would need three life-extending operations which would keep him alive until he was 18. And then a heart transplant will be needed. Alan is a very lively and active boy, but recently his condition has become worse: he has shortness of breath, blue nails on his hands and feet, lips and nose. He needs an operation as soon as possible! In Kyrgyzstan, his homeland is unable to help him, because local surgeons have not dealt with such a complicated heart defect and are unable to perform the surgery. The surgery could be done in Moscow, in Bakulev Research Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. But all services will have to be paid for as a foreign citizen. The money is too high for the family.
