Aidarkhan had a successful surgery!

Aidarkhan is 10 years old. The boy was born absolutely healthy. He was very active, sociable and developed like other children. At the age of 3.5 the child had chickenpox and then suffered a stroke. To put it in medical terms: ischemic stroke with development of cortical-cortical infarction in the right fronto-parieto-parietal area. The baby spent two weeks in intensive care in a serious condition. Doctors gave no hope for life, but Aidarkhan pulled through. As a consequence of the stroke the boy developed left spastic hemiparesis and symptomatic focal epilepsy. To date, neither rehabilitation nor botulinum therapy has helped. The boy has a shortened left leg and arm, scoliotic deformity of the spine and other effects of the disease. Surgical treatment - selective neurotomy of the left tibial nerve and Achilles tendon plasty - is required. The treatment is beyond the means of a single mother, a widow - Aidarkhan's father died in 2020 after a serious illness.
