Yasmina is 3 years old and has a congenital heart defect. Her mother only found out about it after she was born, because all the tests during pregnancy were normal and the pregnancy itself was without complications. A heart defect should not be left untreated because it is a time bomb. The heart can fail at any time.
That is why despite the hazardous flight the girl was taken to the Children Clinical Centre of High Medical Technologies in Saint Petersburg, where she underwent an urgent operation and a shunt was put in.
The operation was a success and she was sent home. Later she had to be monitored, but because of the pandemic her mother could not bring her back to the doctors. Yasmina has only recently had new check-ups, but alas, the situation is serious.
She needs another urgent operation on her pulmonary artery. Since the first operation, the girl has had shortness of breath, which makes Yasmina unable to walk for a long time. Exercise is out of the question. The shortness of breath has also caused a speech defect and delayed speech development.
