Mukhammadamin finished his chemotherapy course and came home!

He won prizes in swimming, second place in the chess competition. His mother carefully collected all certificates of honor and medals shining in the sun in a cardboard box. As a keepsake. «I thought it was a good place. Until one day it rained hard. It turned out that the roof leaked, and all the water got on Mukhammadamin's personal belongings - diplomas, medals, diplomas. Everything got wet! I was so upset. My son gave me a big hug and told me not to worry. "Mom, I'll bring you many, many more of these." And I realized that no diploma can equal his big and kind heart», — recalls Mavluda, the boy's mother. But his favourite classes had to be put on hold for a while. Last September Muhammadamin got a foot pain. The young man was examined at a local outpatient clinic, where he was prescribed antibiotics and physiotherapy. The treatment had no effect, and in November his condition worsened. Pain was followed by nasal congestion, fever, which could not be brought down. And then — the siren of an ambulance, a hospital room, and the diagnosis, sounding as if in another language. Leukemia. What kind of leukemia they couldn't determine at once. For further treatment in December 2021 Mukhammadamin was rushed to Children's City Hospital #1 in St. Petersburg. He spent a month and a half on artificial ventilation, the young man could hardly breathe on his own. «Our whole life changed in an instant, and time seemed to stop. We appreciated each other more than we did before we got sick. This story has toughened us up. We became stronger as parents, and we are ready to do whatever it takes to make sure my son gets better!» — says Mavluda. The treatment is not easy for Mukhammadamin, but he does not give up. He tries courageously to follow all the specialists' recommendations. The young man has undergone several chemotherapy. And he even achieved his first big victory, for which, unfortunately, they do not give medals — he went into the long-awaited remission. Two more blocks of chemotherapy are ahead of Mukhammadamin's plan. However, in Russia the treatment for the boy, a citizen of Tajikistan, is on a fee-for-service basis.
