Madina started speech rehabilitation

Madina hears the world thanks to two cochlear implants. At almost five, the girl speaks a hundred words and keeps more in her head. She communicates easily with her parents and older sisters, but she has difficulties outside the home. In kindergarten, Madina mostly plays alone. And it's not because she is shy, and it's not because she is the smallest and has incomprehensible things in her ears. Mother Denmark knows that her daughter's auditory development lags behind her hearing peers. And this is despite the fact that in her native Kazan they work with a surdologist and a speech therapist every day. Madina lived in complete silence until she was one year old. She heard neither her mother's voice, nor her father's songs with a guitar, nor her cat's purring, nor her two older sisters' noisy games. The first sound that broke the silence was the tap of a wooden mallet on a tin cookie jar. Madina had her first implant installed then, and the tin rattled when it rattled and made her turn her head. It was then that it became clear that this was her first small victory over her deafness. In the past few years, there have been many victories. Several times Madina was in the rehabilitation center "Tosha and Co." - one of the best, where children after cochlear implantation learn to hear and respond to the world. Both times she came home with noticeable progress. The girl was starting to speak sounds more clearly, and she was getting new words and phrases. "The last time I thought that if we stayed a couple more weeks, Madina would come back and recite 'Eugene Onegin' to Daddy," Dania says. But it was impossible to stay, rehabilitation is very expensive, more expensive than a whole year of classes for the girl in her hometown. And, alas, the MHI does not allow access to the center. The mother dreams of taking her daughter to "Tosha and Co." again - there is no better development, especially before school.
