Bekbolsun had a successful eye surgery!

Bekbolsun is a 1.5 year old baby boy who is eager to explore the world. The boy is very cheerful, active, well-built, above normal weight and height - a bogatyr. But the baby can't see. Bekbolsun was born in a remote village in Kyrgyzstan. The boy was born prematurely, weighing 1.5 kg. As a result, his eyes were affected. The diagnosis: retinopathy of incomplete degree V, total detachment of the retina. However the child reacts to the sunlight and there is a hope for recovery. Prognosis of the doctors is favourable. An operation is necessary. The boy is beyond help in his home country. Doctors at St Petersburg Regional Children's Hospital are able to perform the operation.
