The Happy Long Fund helps lonely and abandoned elderly residents of St.Petersburg, the Leningrad region and Pskov city with food stuff and essentials.
After paying the utilities and basic medicines there is a very little of the small standard pension remaining for food. And you have to somehow move on to the next.
In cases like this, charitable support is essential. Our volunteers bring wards large grocery sets with boxes of meat and vegetables, cereals, butter, tea, coffee and sweets.
Adelina Ivanovna, a 73-year-old Petersburger, often requests this kind of support from the Fund. At the time before when half her pension was spent on a rent, there was still money for food. But last winter Adelina Ivanovna slipped on the ice and was seriously injured. Now almost the entire pension is spent on recovery and treatment. The Fund provides her a monthly support and now she always has food. Adelina Ivanovna said that it brought back her confidence in good people.
Now our help is really needed for other people: single seniors with a minimum pension, elderly women, looking after disabled adult children, and many others.
