Muhammad was born prematurely at 28 weeks of pregnancy. When the baby was 2.5 months old, Muhammad was diagnosed with grade 4-5 retinopathy of prematurity in both eyes at an ophthalmologist appointment. This meant that the baby had practically no vision. The baby has already had several eye operations and the surgeons are happy with the results, but Muhammad needs a second surgery to consolidate the results. In the boy's home country there is currently no treatment for retinopathy of prematurity. The baby is doomed to complete blindness here. But doctors in Russia can help him.
