Lydia went to Chernobyl when she was 17. She spent ten days in the liquidation zone as a pre-graduation intern. Echoes of those days reach Lydia to this day. For thirty years her constant companions are pressure and fatigue. And now she has been diagnosed with blood cancer.
A special drug is the best way to cope with the disease. Lydia has already had her first course of therapy. Lydia began to feel better, she no longer needed constant blood transfusions. The doctors say that the treatment must not be interrupted. But unfortunately Lydia cannot get the medicine for free or pay for it herself.
Without this life-saving medicine Lydia can't continue her treatment. But she needs to live. A few months ago her sixteen year old daughter Lisa tragically died. And now Lydia has an important task: to live life not only for herself, but also for Lisa.
