Umarik is a wonderful smiling boy. He will soon be eight years old. He has cerebral palsy, delayed speech development and valgus feet. He spent the first two months of his life in intensive care. This was caused by the trauma he suffered during childbirth and subsequent seizures. Then within two years the boy was treated every two months in a hospital in Rostov on Don. The timely initiated treatment and the right therapy gave good results. The boy has no more seizures and his general condition has improved. At the age of two his parents took him to a specialized centre in Moscow. There the child underwent a course of complex medical rehabilitation including such activities as massage, therapeutic physical training, reflexotherapy and classes with a speech therapist-defectologist. After the course the child has shown positive dynamics in his development. Umar can walk with support, walks on his high knees. Speech has improved and new words have appeared. In order to strengthen his skills and further development, doctors recommend regular rehabilitation courses. Now Umar is waiting at the rehabilitation centre in St. Petersburg.
