At 5 months of age, an ophthalmologist looked at the boy's eyes and discovered retinal detachment due to retinopathy of prematurity, a dangerous disease of prematurity. This means almost total blindness. In this case, only eye surgery can help. Surgery will prevent the eyes from being destroyed as an organ and if the outcome is favorable, it will return the retina, and thus the ability to see! Due to the lack of doctors in Uzbekistan who can perform such surgery, the family will have to come to Russia, to St. Petersburg for treatment.
