Little Aidiar is only 5 months old, but he is already facing two major surgeries: one on his heart and one on his brain. The baby was born with a congenital heart defect. But that's not the only problem, it turned out. Aidiar's skull bones had melded early, and his brain did not have enough room to reach its normal size.
At three months old, the boy was examined at a neurological center in his native Kazakhstan.
The parents' fears were confirmed, the son has a severe skull deformity. It's a dangerous condition. Intracranial pressure increases, there can be blindness, hearing loss, and developmental delay.
Fortunately, this can be avoided if the surgery is done in time. Doctors use special plates to form the correct shape of the skull. Aidar will be able to grow and develop properly!
