35-year-old Albina Valitova from the Republic of Bashkortostan has diabetes mellitus. The disease was severe - the woman lost weight, she was constantly tormented by thirst, she had vision problems, and there was acetone-odour from her mouth. Sometimes she felt so faint that could not stand on her feet. The situation changed when Albina had an insulin pump fixed in 2014. Then she learned that the disease was inherited by her only daughter Amalia. A year later the girl had a pump too.
So one small family from the Bashkir village faced the question: how to get out every month, when two insulin pumps require maintenance. All consumables for a children's pump are provided for free by the State, but at least 12 000 rubles are needed every month for Albina's pump. And disability benefits do not cover this amount.
And if suddenly there is a delay and vital consumables for Amalia will not arrive at the pharmacy on time, Albina, like every good mother, will give her daughter her supplies.
The woman really counts on our help. To live without fear and not choose between herself and her daughter.
