Speech impairment is a pathology manifested by a child's slower rate of speech development than is normal for his or her age group. It is characterised by an insufficient vocabulary, underdevelopment of expressive, phrasal and connected speech.

Without treatment, the child will begin to noticeably lag behind in psycho-verbal development by the age of five. This is due to the fact that it does not communicate with other children and adults, does not ask questions that broaden the horizons. This leads to a permanent speech and intellectual disability, and the child can only be educated in a special remedial school.

Classes with a speech therapist-defectologist using probe and hand massage start the muscles involved in speech, correct stuttering, speech tempo, rhythm, fluency, teach chewing and swallowing. It activates and restores the activity of the articulatory organs and improves the quality of articulation.

By taking part in this collection, you will help 7 children from underprivileged families to attend classes with a speech therapist and a speech pathologist.
