One of our shelters is lucky, it borders a wooded area where volunteers can walk their dogs. But the woods have their inhabitants, and not all of them are harmless.

One of the smallest, but also the most dangerous in the central strip is ixodid ticks. Its bite is dangerous because the arthropods carry deadly and poorly treatable diseases. For humans these are: viral encephalitis, Lyme disease, tularaemia and others. The consequence of a bite can be paralysis, deafness, development of autoimmune and multisystem diseases.

For dogs, a tick bite is just as dangerous, pyroplasmosis or babesiosis, an acute and severe disease of dogs in which red blood cells (red blood cells) are destroyed. Without treatment, the dog dies in four to seven days.

Acaricide treatment of the surrounding area can minimize the risk of tick bites. Now we need to treat 7 hectares of territory.
