Larisa has a very close-knit family. She met her husband many years ago, when she was in her second year of medical school. Together they raised their children and grandchildren, built a house where the whole family would gather around a big table. And they thought that nothing could separate them.
But in 2021 Larissa found a lump on her skin. It was removed, but a few months later a painful tumor formed on the same spot. And Larissa had to undergo many examinations in hospitals away from her family. Larisa recalls that she was relieved when she was diagnosed with blood cancer, acute myeloblastic leukemia. At that moment Larissa had a chance to get the right treatment and return to a healthy life.
