Ticks become active in late spring and early summer, as well as in late summer and early autumn. During these periods, there are no low temperatures, and the humidity is increased.
Most often, ticks attack animals while walking. Parasites hide in grassy roadsides and ravines, on the branches of low bushes, in tree fallows and damp places. The forest, square, summer cottage and city park are equally dangerous.
By itself, an ordinary tick does not pose a danger to the animal: it drinks a little blood, and the wound from it quickly overgrows. The pet is harmed by transmissible infections and protozoan parasites that enter the pet’s body directly from a tick bite and adversely affect health.
The prognosis largely depends on the stage at which the veterinarian diagnoses and prescribes treatment for the infection that has appeared. Therapy in the early stages is more effective, and rehabilitation is faster.
Our shelter is located outside the city, where a large number of ticks live. Therefore, now we are raising funds for drops from ticks, as well as drugs for the treatment of infections of those tigers who have recently arrived at our shelter.
Let's keep tigers safe this summer together!
