Gusein was used to doing sports, working hard, raising three sons and always being on the move. But he had to leave everything and go from Makhachkala to Moscow to begin treatment.

After several courses of chemotherapy the disease receded. But last year Gusein had a relapse. He had a bone marrow transplant, which was the only chance of recovery.
