The surgery stopped the progression of retinopathy!

Marjona was born prematurely. Because of this, she had severe vision problems. Marjona needed an operation.

On admission to the operation it was found that the treatment she had received during the preparatory period had helped and no surgical intervention was required for the time being. Marjona will continue to be monitored by an ophthalmologist at her place of residence and will come to St. Petersburg in a year for a check-up.

The family redirected the collected funds to help a child with the same diagnosis - 4-month-old Bilal. The baby was born prematurely with a diagnosis of hydrocephalus and immediately went into intensive care under ventilator. Bilal was diagnosed with grade 4 retinopathy in both eyes.

Without surgery Bilal could have gone blind - you have already helped him to have surgery on one eye. Now, thanks to your help, Bilal has had surgery on his other eye.
