Ilya has a rare congenital pathology - craniosynostosis, premature fusion of the bones of the skull. Normally, they remain mobile until the baby and his brain stop growing. And Ilya has one of those sutures right after birth. This entails hydrocephalus, developmental delay, blindness and deafness, and epilepsy.
The problem is successfully solved surgically, but not everywhere. The family brought Ilyusha to Moscow from Kazakhstan, where the family lives, and where they have already tried to operate on the baby, but only made it worse. Russian surgeons could still fix it - two surgeries, a set of titanium plates and screws, and a million rubles would be needed.
The family has already paid for the treatment, but not enough money to pay for the plates. We opened a fundraiser for the boy at the Foundation site, but we may not have time - with each day the consequences of compression of the brain grow. Help Ilya! After the surgery, the child continues to grow and develop normally. He has no aesthetic or functional disorders.
