Little Gagik is already undergoing treatment!

Seven-month-old Gagik is a very cheerful baby. Even the doctors entering the ward are greeted by the boy with a smile. As if he understands that they have come to help. Gagik has a congenital immune deficiency. His body is defenseless even against innocuous infections. A month ago the boy ended up in intensive care with a severe form of pneumonia, which literally destroyed his lungs. Doctors fought for Gagik's life and for weeks he was breathing on a ventilator. Today Gagik continues his treatment at a Moscow hospital. Gagik is getting better: after a month on artificial lung ventilation, doctors started breathing on his own, with oxygen support. Besides antibacterial therapy, the boy has to undergo weekly injections of donor antibodies - immunoglobulins. As well as an expensive oxygen concentrator, which will support Gagik's lungs after discharge.
