The sight of children born prematurely is threatened by retinopathy - this disease causes retinal detachment in a matter of days.
Doctors who know how to operate on the eyes of premature babies work in several major cities, but transporting a baby takes time and can lead to blindness. And most importantly, it is extremely dangerous for a fragile organism.
Such a threat recently happened in the family of little Ahmed. Mom came to visit relatives in Moscow, where she began premature birth. Their son's retinopathy was cured, Ahmed retained his sight. If this happened in his native village in the Crimea, the consequences could be much worse due to the lack of specialists.
The Providence Charitable Foundation has launched a fundraiser for training doctors so that every region of Russia can save children's eyesight just as effectively. Recently, such a doctor appeared in Dagestan. Thanks to the help of tubers, the specialist traveled to Moscow, underwent training at the N.I. Pirogov RCCH, and has already helped seven children in Makhachkala.
This course is completely practical - and therefore, after a short time, the doctor will be able to immediately start working and start operating. But such an intensive individual program is not included in the basic training standards, so the work of experts must be paid.
Now ophthalmologists from Simferopol and other remote regions of Russia have applied for training. Support the project of the Providence Foundation so that in Russia as soon as possible there will be more cities where the sight of premature babies is saved!
