"When are we going home?" - asks 6-year-old Artyom, playing soldier in a hospital bed. He brought his favorite toys from home. In Kazakhstan, his grandparents, two dogs and a cat are waiting for him.
⠀
Artyom is currently undergoing another course of chemotherapy at Morozovsky Hospital. The child has kidney cancer. He needs a bone marrow transplant.
⠀
Artyom was born premature and was immediately registered with a neurologist. When he was two and a half years old, his parents noticed how his son's stomach started to grow. They immediately went to the doctor. The diagnosis was like thunder in the middle of a clear sky - nephroblastoma of the left kidney.
⠀
The fight against cancer has begun: courses of chemotherapy one after the other, removal of the kidney and part of the intestine, chemo again.
Unfortunately, the metastases on the lungs have developed. Radiation therapy only helps for a while. The boy needs a bone marrow transplant.
⠀
Vivacious Artyom believes that he will recover and become a doctor. He'll treat children like him. And now he needs our help.
