At the age of eight, Safiyat was diagnosed with a serious illness: chronic renal failure. This is a condition in which the kidneys' main function - excretory function - is impaired. Without treatment, it develops irreversibly progressing.
Two years ago she underwent endoplasty at a hospital in Moscow. Now Safiyat needs to be examined and treated every six months.
Safiyat is a kind, intelligent and inquisitive girl. She likes to learn and reads a lot. But due to her rapid health-related fatigue, she is now home-schooled.
In addition to the medication that Safiyat is currently receiving, she needs rehabilitation to recover her health. She will receive treatment from an orthopaedist, a physical therapeutic trainer and massage sessions.
The girl's mother raises Safiyat and her sister alone. She doesn't have the financial means to pay for the rehabilitation course.
