The beneficiaries of the “Old Age in Joy” foundation—elderly people and people with disabilities—need blood pressure monitors, glucometers, and nebulizers. Blood pressure and high blood glucose levels are often called “silent killers.” Grandparents live on small pensions; even a blood pressure monitor or test strips for a glucometer are not available to them. And in boarding schools there can be one device per building with 500 residents. Many residents of nursing homes with amputated legs and almost lost vision are victims of diabetes. A nebulizer is a type of inhaler that turns medicine into a cool “vapor” with very small particles so that it penetrates the bronchi and lungs.
