Yana is 13 years old, six months ago foster parents took the child from the orphanage. After three months, the girl was unrecognizable: she was aggressive and did not trust anyone, Yana often hid in the bathroom and did not let her parents into her room. "She began to threaten that she would scratch her face if we came to her" - says the girl's mother. The foster parents turned to our foundation for help. After living in an orphanage, foster children in a new family often do not trust their parents because they have experienced abuse in early childhood. In the orphanage, children have no significant adult and no reliable support. After this experience, children need the help of a psychologist to learn to trust their parents. During group sessions children can discuss their fears and difficulties with the specialist, learn to communicate with peers and believe that their parents will not abandon them.
