Abdurahman was born deaf and could not hear anything until he was 3 years old when he received a cochlear implant a year ago. Now Abdurahman has an electronic ear and, more importantly, the ability to hear the world around him. A small transmitter is implanted under the skin on his head, and a processor connected to it converts external sounds into signals, transmitting them directly to the brain. But for a child who has not heard anything since birth and now hears in such an unnatural way, it is very difficult for him to learn to understand others and to speak himself. Classes with a sign language therapist and a speech therapist did not bring results - other specialists who know how to work with children after hearing aids are needed. And only a few rehabilitation centers have such specialists, and unfortunately, they charge for treatment. Once Abdurakhman was lucky enough to take one course, and he began to understand other people's speech, learned his name and began to respond to his own name. But only the parents of many children could not pay for the continuation of treatment - Abdurahman is the fifth child in the family. But we can help, and then Abdurahman will learn to speak and will be able to go to a regular school.
