The Butterfly Children Foundation has been helping people with epidermolysis bullosa (EB) for more than 12 years, a rare genetic disease in which the skin and mucous membranes are so vulnerable that any awkward movement can lead to injury.
A complication of the dystrophic form of butterfly disease is fusion of the fingers due to constant wounds. The brush becomes as if a mitten was put on it, which makes it impossible for the child to do simple but important things - hold a spoon, brush his teeth, draw, sculpt, learn to write.
In this case, children undergo a complex surgical operation to separate their fingers. And immediately after they will have a long and painful rehabilitation, when even dressings must be done in a hospital under general anesthesia. The operation to separate the fingers is carried out according to compulsory medical insurance at the Clinic of High Medical Technologies named after. Pirogov in St. Petersburg, but compulsory insurance does not cover dressings under anesthesia, which are required to preserve the results of the operation.
The fund opens a collection for transportation costs from the place of residence to the clinic and back for the operation itself and for hospitalization for dressings. The guys really need our help, please, let's support them in their struggle for the opportunity to live a normal life!
