Alexandra, an orphan with severe liver disease, was undergoing examinations to be placed on a waiting list for an organ transplant. Sasha lived in a barracks, without heating, with water supply and sewerage cut off after the accident. Sasha spent her entire childhood in orphanages, but did not receive orphan status and could not count on housing from the state.
We found and rented a small, cozy apartment for Sasha, which she moved into at the end of December 2023.
Donations received as part of this collection were to be used to pay rent for a new home for three months.
Unfortunately, despite the efforts made to improve living conditions, and additional medical care from our Foundation, Sasha passed away in February... Alexandra’s sudden passing was a shock for our employees and benefactors.
Due to a change in circumstances, we redirected the collected funds to help another ward - lonely pensioner Svetlana Vasilievna.
She had a significant debt to pay for housing and communal services due to her extremely low income, disability and lack of support from relatives. The management company demanded immediate payment of the debt under the threat of cutting off water supply and other utilities.
We paid off the debt from funds previously collected to rent housing for Alexandra.
Thank you for joining us in helping those who need it!
