In August 2010, Mairbek was involved in an accident, resulting in an injury to his spine and spinal cord. The diagnosis is complete conduction disorder and lower paraplegia. Several operations were performed, including on the spine itself. Hip joint surgery was also performed, as calcified bone growths formed near the joints. They did not allow me to move and live a full life.

Thanks to the operation, Mairbek became more mobile, he met good people. He joined the circle of volunteers in his town and sometimes helps those in need by contributing to the team. Mairbek is also fond of music. Composes rap and dreams of recording his tracks in a professional studio. We have prepared the volunteer anthem "Boomerang of Goodness" with the guys and are going to perform it this year.

Mairbek has spinal friends whom he would like to see more often, but unfortunately it doesn't work out. And I also want to not just go to some city, but also get off the car and walk on my own
