Thank you for supporting the fundraising for Zakhar's operation. The teenager has had paralyzed facial muscles since birth, and only expensive treatment could restore his facial expressions. However, when the necessary amount of money was raised, the boy refused the surgical treatment for personal reasons. We took his decision with understanding.
And the funds raised with your help were directed for surgical treatment of Aiset Tsaayeva. Like Zakhar, she has Mobius syndrome. Children with this pathology cannot frown, smile or blink (because of this they have reduced vision). And also can not chew solid food. A frequent companion of Mebius syndrome - weight deficiency and anemia.
There are several steps to regaining facial expressions in these children. Ayset has already gone part of the long way: last year doctors performed two operations on the girl. During the first one, they grafted a nerve from the child's little finger into her cheek, and during the second one, they grafted a muscle from her thigh into her cheek. And this year, thanks to your support, a third operation was performed to transplant a muscle into the other cheek.
Aiset's family would like to express their gratitude to all the tubers. The girl has a series of rehabs ahead, during which she will be taught how to control her new muscles. To smile, to be sad, to laugh.
Friends, thank you so much for helping children with serious illnesses. May kindness be returned to you a hundredfold!
