Currently, one of the effective tactics for the management of hemorrhage is the use of non-pneumatic NASG shock garment. The garment is a compression suit originally developed using NASA technology to keep astronauts from losing consciousness during extreme acceleration.
Without the suit, a woman could die within 30 minutes. NASG can keep a woman in labor alive for up to 48 hours. This allows to gain critical time for transferring the patient to an appropriate medical facility and providing treatment. This is especially important for Kazakhstan, which has a territory of 2.7 million square kilometers and ranks 9th in the world in terms of area.
At the beginning of 2022, the Pavlodar region had the highest mortality rate of women in labor in the country. NASG suits will help the region's doctors to reduce the maternal mortality rate.
