In the early childhood, doctors diagnosed Roma with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. When the father found out the child’s illnesses, he decided to leave the family. The mother could not cope with the difficulties and committed suicide. Roma remained in the care of his grandmother. In 2009, she brought her grandson to the Obereg rehabilitation center, from where she took him only for winter and summer holidays. In 2018, after a long illness, Roma’s grandmother died, and the rest of his relatives abandoned him. For more than five years, the young man has been fully supported by the center. Every year it becomes more and more difficult for the center’s staff to find funds to pay for Roma’s maintenance. Due to serious diagnoses, he constantly needs medications, hygiene products and much more.
