Inquisitive and sociable Lisa is 12 years old. Her diagnosis is epidermolysis bullosa. This is a genetic skin disease: any touch provokes the appearance of blisters similar to burns. The disease affects the internal organs and systems of the body, causing a number of complications. Externally, the most noticeable are the fusion of the fingers and the deformation of the joints.
The current school year has become a landmark for the girl – she has changed from home schooling to attending classes at a regular school. In February, the long-awaited finger separation surgery on the right hand took place, which caused exhaustion of the body and exacerbation of the disease. Lisa needs a rehabilitation course before undergoing surgery on her left arm in June this year.
The Butterfly Children Foundation helps the wards to get stronger under the supervision of specialized medical specialists in the sanatorium "Polyany" near Moscow. Patients undergo a set of necessary procedures that stabilize skin conditions and strengthen the immune system.
Lisa really needs our help!
