The diagnosis of retinoblastoma, which sounded like a death sentence, receded before the power of collective help. For almost a whole year Mustafa underwent a course of treatment in one of the best Moscow clinics. And the treatment has borne fruit: Mustafa is feeling well!
Of course, the fight is not over yet. The treatment will continue, now in another clinic, but the threat has passed, and this gives us great hope. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the fundraising and supported Mustafa during this difficult year.
The unspent money was used to perform strabismus surgery on Leo, who was born prematurely after a difficult birth. From the first days of his life he struggled to survive: ventilator, seizures, pneumonia, haemorrhages, heart and eye surgeries. At one year old he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia). After spinal cord surgery Lyova learnt to walk. Now he attends kindergarten, but suffers from severe strabismus, which prevents him from seeing and developing. An operation (chemodenervation) was necessary, which the family cannot pay for on their own.
