Amirkhon's vision has been operated on

Amirkhon is just over a year old and has already undergone five surgeries. The baby was born prematurely and developed retinopathy, a disease in which a boy can lose his vision completely.

The disease progressed rapidly, and from the third stage soon went to the fifth. In his home country they could not help any more and advised to operate on Amirkhon in St. Petersburg.

The boy's family has many children: his mother is a housewife who takes care of her disabled son and two other children, and his father is a laborer. The parents cannot afford to pay for the upcoming surgery for their son, and they are asking for help.
