Eleven-year-old Yasmina from Dagestan has three severe diagnoses at once. The girl has Crohn's disease (chronic inflammation of the intestines), a heart defect, autoimmune hepatitis and congenital immunodeficiency.
Because of the genetic mutation, Yasmina's immune system does not work properly. It attacks and rejects its own healthy cells. This pathological process affects the work of many systems and organs.
"The path to the correct diagnosis was hard. My daughter endured dozens of painful examinations and procedures: colonoscopies, biopsies. Frequent anesthesia and high doses of hormones gave complications on the nervous system. Yasminochka has become completely different," says her mother Madina.
Doctors are convinced that the only way to cure the girl is a bone marrow transplant. The procedure involves replacing the patient's pathologically altered stem cells with healthy donor cells.
In order for the transplantation to be successful, Yasmina's body needs to be prepared. For this purpose, the girl will undergo a course of expensive supportive therapy. We are raising funds to purchase these vital medications for Yasmina.
