Home visits are an integral part of our Foundation's work. Thanks to them, we monitor the dynamics of our beneficiaries' development. On average, physical and occupational therapists make 100-120 visits per month: these are both initial visits, where a family that has just joined the Foundation asks its most troubling questions, and repeated visits, when a family is already a member of the Foundation, receives regular recommendations, and specialists come to the families and monitor the correctness of their implementation.
For example, Islamiya Sadykova, an occupational therapist of our foundation, has conducted consultations in the North Caucasus. During this time she consulted 27 families from Ingushetia, the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Dagestan and the Chechen Republic.
Many families received active wheelchairs and verticalizers. Islamiya customized and adapted the TSRs and assessed the child's environmental, home environment. She discussed with the families the possibilities of adaptation and adapted the child's home environment. Islamiyah also conducted initial consultations with families who have only recently become wards of the foundation. They outlined with the families a plan and regularity of necessary examinations, selected a set of exercises for daily activities. We discussed the parents' concerns.
The Spina Bifida Foundation would like to thank everyone who supported the work of the specialists and helped the children diagnosed with congenital spinal malformation!
