The first time the mom of the future baby heard the diagnosis "spina bifida" was at the term of 33 weeks. Doctors explained that the fetus had rachyshisis with a cyst of large size - the vertebrae in the lumbar region did not close and the spinal cord protruded through the cleft. After the birth the girl underwent several surgeries, after which there was hope that Arina would be able to walk on her own. But after another hospitalization it became clear that this dream is unlikely to come true. Now Arina weighs more than 30 kg, not including clothes. The family lives on the 4th floor in a house without an elevator. Arina's mom has to overcome a lot of difficulties, and also she brings up two children alone and has no opportunity to work, as it is necessary to take care of the children, especially Arina. Thanks to the coordinated work of the whole team of the "Spina Bifida" Foundation, specialists, occupational therapists, lawyers, Arina has been included in the IPRA and has already ordered the manufacture of an active wheelchair with payment by electronic certificate. Since the family lives in Siberia, winters there are long and snowy. Arina needs winter wheels on the active stroller for active life, visiting school, clubs/sections, movies/performances with classmates, rehabilitation, outdoor walks. The family is not able to buy them on their own. Let's help the family to buy winter wheels, on which Arina's quality of life depends!
