Three days ago, due to severe flooding, several sections of the dam in the Orenburg region were destroyed. Water rushed into populated areas and flooded houses, schools, and kindergartens. A state of emergency has been declared in the region, several settlements have been flooded, people are being transported by boat to temporary accommodation centers. In the first half of the day alone today (04/08/2024), 736 people were evacuated. The dam continues to collapse, water floods more and more populated areas. People can only take documents and medicines with them. Many arrive at temporary accommodation centers in wet clothes.
